Helix Lateral Trainer – How to use it and What is its benefit

Hey guys, what is going on, retired Navy SEAL Chris Sajnog here. I am with my chiropractor, Dr. Peter, and we’re going to be talking about the helix lateral trainer.

I use one of these at home, Dr. Peter uses one of his practice, and I have got an amazing benefit out of it. When I was in the SEAL teams, I tore my right hamstring, and I lost a lot of muscle mass there.

This is How To Use a Helix Lateral Trainer. While getting on to the machine, you want to put your hand up first, then step onto the low pedal. To begin you want to push to the outside, and by doing this you are engaging your adductors.

After some time moving your legs outward, you’ll want to change directions. Now moving your feet inside will begin to focus on your adductors.

This machine will come in handy when it comes to things like rotary sports, weight transfer, and lateral motion, this is what it’s all about.

Here are some Helix Lateral Trainer Benefits: 

  • While using this, you will be able to feel literally what your feet are doing, left and right because it’s connected in what we call a closed chain pattern. 
  • This exercise will also get your core very engaged. You can feel both glute areas working symmetrically
  • This system also helps massively with recovery in certain parts of your body. You can find out how much pressure you are putting on the inside of your foot, and on the outside. This will help your entire body feel more engaged and feel symmetrical. That’s what it’s all about recovery, recreating symmetry trying to get balanced, and returning to function.
