Improve Your Situational Awareness Skills with these Quick Tips

Hey guys, what is going on. I just really want to share with you a quick tip on how to improve your situational awareness. The way to do that is to think of situational awareness as peripheral vision.

If you do that, you’ll see how easy it is to train in so many different ways

Distractions

We are all on our mobile devices. You see it all the time, people looking down at their phones or their iPads, and everything’s just closing off around us. When people are running, they’re doing it on a treadmill. We need to open that up and see what’s going on around us.

Advice for improving situational awareness

Peripheral Vision

The way to do that is to understand it’s your peripheral vision. I don’t want to get into all the details on rods and cones in your eyes, and what picks up movement and stuff like that. All you need to do is to start training to improve your situational awareness.

This is number one, get your head out of your mobile devices, as much as you can. Get up, and look around. If you’re going to go for a run, go outside because as you’re outside, you’re going to be seeing all these things moving past you your environments constantly changing

Practice Makes Perfect

As you walk down the street, keep your eyes straight forward. Just look and, see what you can see in your peripheral vision without changing your eyes. Keep looking straight ahead and start noticing other things that you would usually not pay attention to.

As you do that even more and more you will start to know what’s behind you and what’s around you. That is the way to improve your awareness. You’re going to be able to build and it’s really easy.

So that is your quick tip for the day. If you liked this post, please drop a comment. If you know somebody who could use this, please share it with them. I hope this has helped you improve your situational awareness. Until next time, keep paving your path to perfection.
