How Do I Start Meditating and Stop my Mind From Racing?

Hey guys, what’s going on, I’m retired Navy Seal Chris Sajnog and founder of the SEAL training system. In this post, I want to teach you how do I start meditating and stop my racing mind. Now let’s go ahead and get started.

You’ve heard me talk about meditation and the importance of meditation in anything you want to learn in life. If you’ve tried it, and you found that you’ve got just a racing mind, or you can’t sit still, the first thing that you should do is to work on your breathing. So forget all about meditation. Don’t even put that on your plate just yet.

Chris Sajnog explains how to begin meditating.

Proper Breathing

How do I start meditating and stop my racing mind? You should work on your breathing and make sure you’re breathing properly before you try meditation. Now, most people do not breathe properly. Most people breathe through their mouths.

This is not the way we are designed to breathe. We’re designed to breathe in and out through our noses. So it’s really important to breathe in and out through your nose.

The next thing that you want to be able to do to breathe properly is to not use your accessory muscles. That means your shoulders, your chest, and your neck muscles. If you are breathing in through your chest, you’re using all these extra muscles they’re not designed to do.

Practice

Practice breathing in and out through your nose and keeping your chest and shoulders still while your stomach moves in and out. When you can do that for five minutes, then, and only then move on to practice meditation

If you can’t first breathe properly, you’ll never get to the point of meditation. Once you discover the benefits of meditation, you’ll forget what life was like before.

So anyways, that is it for your question “How do I start meditating and stop my racing mind.?”. That’s all I have for you today. Until next time, keep paving your path to perfection.
